A child born in the gandanta junctions of the six Gandmool nakshatras (Ashwini, Ashlesha, Magha, Jyeshtha, Mula, Revati) is said to have Gandmool dosh. Traditionally the shanti is done on the 27th day after birth when the same nakshatra returns, but it can be done later too. It includes nakshatra devta pujan, 27-herb snan sankalp, jaap and havan.
